the house and the line
the house
the house is who you trade against. it starts at $0.
- nobody can deposit into it. it fills from trader losses.
- winners get paid from house cash. your margin always comes back right away. the part that can wait is the profit on top, never the margin.
- the app shows it. house cash, line depth, and how far underwater the house is.
day one the house is empty, so early wins can sit in the line. that is why losers get the most $DUST early. see $DUST overview.
the line
if the house cannot cover your profit, the part it cannot cover goes in a first in first out line. nobody skips. it gets paid from the next losses, oldest first.
- your margin never waits. it comes back at once.
- no fee on a win that waits. a queued win pays no fee.
- a queued win is not collateral. you cannot bet it until it is paid.
- you can see your place. your balance shows what is ready to use, and what is owed with your live place in the line. a withdraw takes the ready part.
the cap
once the house holds more than its cap, everything above goes 100% to stakers. the cap is set once, at launch. see staking.
one side can fill up
if the house already holds too much on your side of a coin, a new bet on that side is refused until it clears. go smaller, switch sides or wait.
when new bets pause
new bets can be paused while cash outs, busts, withdrawals and the line keep working. a retired market freezes its price for good.
the page solvency line has the mechanism.
