liquidations
getting dusted means getting busted. the full margin on that bet is gone and you mint $DUST for it.
the bust price
every bet has a bust price, set 5 bp before your margin hits zero. the price touches it, the bet is dusted, the full margin is gone.
how far the price can move against you before that happens:
| leverage | move against you |
|---|---|
| 1,000× | 0.05% |
| 500× | 0.15% |
| 100× | 0.95% |
| 50× | 1.95% |
| 10× | 9.95% |
in words: the distance is 1 divided by your leverage, minus 5 bp. higher leverage means a closer bust price.
what a bust does
- the margin is gone. you lose the full margin on that bet and never more.
- you mint $DUST. busts mint on the full margin. see $DUST overview.
- a bot settles it. it gets 0.1% of your margin (minimum $0.01), paid out of the margin you already lost. it costs you nothing extra.
anyone can run a settling bot, and dust runs its own. the bounty is the reason they race to do it. see settlement and keepers.
a stop loss comes before the bust
a stop loss sits between your entry and your bust. if the price gaps through both at once, it is a bust, not a stop. see orders.
DUST MODE has no bust price
a DUST MODE round has no mid round bust. the round ends when the clock does, and the most you can lose is the margin.
