wins and losses
a regular bet ends four ways: you cash out, a take profit fires, a stop loss fires, or the price touches your bust price and you get dusted. a DUST MODE round ends when its clock does. this page covers what each result pays and what dust takes.
a win
a win pays USDC into your dust balance. withdraw whenever.
your margin always comes back, never trimmed. the trim touches profit, never margin. a win the house cannot cover right now waits in a line, and the part that waits is the profit on top, never your margin. see the house and the line.
a loss
you lose your loss and nothing extra. the most you can lose on a bet is the margin you put on it.
every loss mints $DUST to you. see $DUST overview.
fees
| when | what dust takes |
|---|---|
| opening a bet | nothing |
| holding a bet | nothing, zero funding |
| gas | nothing, dust covers it |
| a win | a small trim on the profit, then 2% of what is left |
| a loss | nothing on top of your loss. the house skims 2% of it out of its own side, and while nobody is waiting in the line |
| your first deposit | $1, once |
| take profit or stop loss | no extra fee |
| a win that waits in the line | no fee |
stakers get USDC from every fee. a referral cut comes out of our cut, never out of what stakers get. the win fee can never be set above 5%. that is a hard cap in the code.
if a bot fires your take profit or stop loss, it gets 0.1% of your margin (minimum $0.01), out of what comes back to you. fire it yourself and you pay nothing.
the small win trim
zero spread at 1,000× works because tiny moves do not pay in full. so wins get trimmed. small moves get trimmed hard, big moves barely. two steps:
- dead zone. 0.2 bp comes off the top of every win. a win smaller than that pays $0. on $100,000 of size that is $2 off the top.
- trim curve. what is left gets scaled down. the smaller the move, the harder the cut. even a huge win keeps at most 90% before the 2% fee.
worked examples
a $100 bet at 1,000×, BTC long from $83,000. that is $100,000 of size. the numbers come from the exact payout formula. raw is size times move.
| BTC move | exit | raw | after dead zone | trimmed | fee | you net |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| +0.1% | $83,083 | $100.00 | $98.00 | $73.91 | $1.48 | $72.43 |
| +0.5% | $83,415 | $500.00 | $498.00 | $431.78 | $8.64 | $423.14 |
| +1% | $83,830 | $1,000.00 | $998.00 | $881.47 | $17.63 | $863.84 |
the trim keeps about 74% of raw on the small move, 86% on the middle one and 88% on the big one.
and a loss for comparison: BTC −0.03%, same bet. you lose $30, $70 comes back, and no fee is added on top of your loss.
when the result lands
your fill is the price tick about 2 seconds after your click, and a cash out works the same way. take profit and limit orders fill at exactly your price. a stop loss closes at the first price at or past your stop. see orders.
